Flyte smiled and handed him the cup. "Vett will need his stall mucked." She stopped and started counting off on her fingers. "Living room, hallway, bathrooms, lunch, mucking, bathrooms, garage, attic. I think I'll have enough time to ride." She turned back to the dishes and started putting them away. "Check homework. Oh, I'd better not need the geography book. I'll have to break into the school again." She sighed and looked back at him. "What did I forget? Oh, dogs. Right. Yeah, I'll make it today."

Masafumi sighed as he took the cup, but placed a smile on his face in thanks.. "You don't need to worry about your folks or any of them anymore," he stated. "I'll figure something out. It's not your job; just school, your horse, and whatever else that you want to do." He looked at the ceiling for a moment in thought. Then, he turned his gaze back to Flyte. "Check your room's wall in a bit."

"My father will get angry at me. I was supposed to clean the attic two days ago, but I completely forgot." Flyte sighed. "What room?" She asked, looking around. "Where'd I put that dang windex..." She muttered, opening a cabinet.

Masafumi stuck his hands into his pockets and shook his head. "You don't need to clean yet," he stated. Or at all, his thoughts finished. "At least till you're settled." Masafumi looked down the hall for a moment. Then he took her arm and gently dragged her to her room, stopping at the door. Slowly, he stepped inside, turning to a wall covered in fresh paint. "I'm amazed the fumes didn't wake you up. I guess they weren't that bad, though."

Flyte stared at it, her lips parting in surprise. "You did this? Why?" She asked, then shook her head. "Whacko."

Masafumi shrugged a little. "I started drawing on some paper in my room late last night..." he whispered. "It reminded me of you so I painted it here. I thought you'd like it since it was the moon and a horse. I'm going to finish the horse up like Past."

Flyte stared at him blankly. "Past? Whose Past?" Her hair slid in front of her shoulders, and she tugged on her shirt. "Egh, what's with this thing?" She grabbed Masi's shirt, pulled it off of him, then pulled off her own shirt and put his on. "Much better." She smiled.

Masafumi stood still, stunned by her actions. He was a little more afraid of her forgetting who her own horse was, though. Masafumi took a step back for a moment, trying to keep himself calm and away from laughter or anything else. Why had she done that? More importantly, why the hell would she take her shirt off by him!

Flyte looked at him, obviously not fazed by her actions. "What's wrong?" She asked, before going into a coughing fit. When it finished she touched her throat gently. "This shirt is dry. You're a boy. You don't need one."

Masafumi stuck his hands into his pockets and murmered, well fine" under his breath. He didn't really care, but it was covered in paint. He shrugged a little and looked out her window.

Flyte turned and hugged him. "Thank you." She grinned, then let go and crumpled onto the ground, grabbing her head. "Oooow!" She whimpered.

Masafumi fell to her side. "Are you okay?" he asked, worry taking over him. He hated it when she was like this. Was she this sick or was it just something she was used to? Either way, he wanted to help as much as he possibly could.

Flyte pressed her hands over her ears. It felt like someone was drilling a nail into her head. Thousands of them. She scrunched up and moaned. "Mi...grane..." She gasped, unwanted tears streaming down her cheeks. She hadn't had one since she 'stopped'. What was wrong now?

Masafumi pressed his hand to Flyte's forehead, then picked her up. "You are sick," he said as he walked over to her bedside. He laid her down and stepped out of the room for a moment. He returned with some water and medicine. "You have to take it, okay?" He took a pill from the bottle and handed it to her along with the water.

Flyte held it for a second, closing her eyes and willing the migrane away. Finally she put the pill in her mouth, drank it down with the water, and dropped the glass to grab her head again.

Masafumi managed to catch the glass before it fell to break. He set it on the side table. He sat down on the bed next to Flyte and smiled. "You're going to be okay," he reassured her. "Though that shit tastes nasty, it works really well."

Flyte nodded, and whimpered as her head exploded again. She clenched her teeth and braced herself against it. Dammit, this hurts! She pressed her palms against her ears and it faded a little. After a few more minutes it dropped into a regular headache. She sighed and buried her face in her pillow. "Dammit, dammit, dammit."

Masafumi kneeled, now on the floor, and laid his head by her's. "Is it starting to work?" he asked quietly into her ear. He slowly ran his finger's through her black hair and smiled.

"Yes." Flyte muttered, her voice muffled by the pillow. She closed her eyes and turned her head to look at him. "Thank you." She whispered, shuddering quickly. "I haven't had one since I stopped smoking. What happened?" Like Masi would know. Maybe he would. He knew everything.

Masafumi continued to smile, but it faded. She smoked!? he thought to himself. What? Why!? He fell back, coughing, thinking of his own past. He put his hand over his chest, trying to get himself to stop. Why would she smoke?...

Flyte crawled out of the bed and touched his arm gently, her eyes wide. "What's wrong? Masi, are you okay?" She asked, panic rising in her.

Soon, he was calmed, but his breathing was still cut short. He was leaning back on his arms. He tried to keep himself calm, though. He could feel the smoke coming into his lungs. He fell back to the ground. For a moment, he felt as if he was going to crash from blackened lungs and drunken blood and mind. What was he going to do?

"Masi!" Flyte grabbed his arm and shook it. "Are you okay? Masi?" She wasn't sure what was wrong, she was frozen with shock. What happened? What do I do?

He inhaled as deeply as he could, then his breathing was deep and long instead of the short spazzems. He sat up and remembered where he was. He looked at Flyte, shock and fear falling into his eyes. He managed to sprint out of the room, but nearly fell as he tried to turn from Flyte's door to his own room that was right next door. He fell on his bed and tossed a pillow over his face.

Flyte sat on the floor a second before chasing after him. She stopped in his doorway, panting and ignoring her throbbing head. "Tell me what's wrong. Please, Masi." She begged, falling to her knees besides his bed and putting a hand on his.

"I'm fine," was all he could manage to get out of his lips. Reluctantly, he pulled something from his sidetable drawer; an inhaler. He really didn't want to use it, but his breathing was course again. He couldn't think straight. He was drunk. He was high off smoke and pot. What the hell was he thinking back then?

Flyte sat besides Masi, staring at him with wide eyes. "What was that about?" She asked, her voice quivering. She gripped her wrist tightly, not feeling the pain, yet knowing it was there.

Masafumi fell over to the other side of the bed. He just stayed there on the floor, not even giving a damn. His glasses had fallen off, too. Beside him lay several stacks of books. One had fallen with his landing. He felt like an idiot, and he was.

Flyte scrambled over the bed and dropped onto the ground besides him. She cradled his head in her arms and swept the hair from his eyes. "Masi." She whimpered. "What's wrong? Do you need something? Tell me, say anything, please Masi!"

Masafumi just stayed silent. He didn't move. All he did was blink and breath. There was nothing more he could do anyway. His past was eating him alive.
