Flyte stared at him a moment longer. She couldn't think of anything to do except... No! He'll just be mad at you! She continued stroking his hair softly. She was arguing with herself silently. Finally she just leaned over and pressed her lips to his.

Masafumi just sat stunned for a moment. What should he do? It's not like he didn't like it or anything. It was just odd that she would even bother. Didn't his breath smell like smoke? No, he thought as he put his arms around her, one entangled in her hair.

Flyte was sure he could hear her heart racing. This would be my first kiss...if it wasn't for that b*st*rd. She pulled away and dropped her forehead onto his shoulder. He smelled so good. She closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around his neck.

Masafumi didn't want to stop. He knew it was for the best though. It would never happen again. He wanted to make a law out of that, but he didn't know if he really could for sure. He just sighed, waiting for something... anything. The only thing that moved was his hand move across her back every now-and-again.

Flyte sighed also, except it was more of letting out her breath than sigh. She felt so strange, it was a feeling she couldn't even describe. Yet it felt so wonderful. Love? Could it be love? Of course it was, she just kissed him. But it was because I didn't know what else to do...but I wanted to for a long time, haven't I? She leaned up and kissed him again.

Masafumi smiled happily. He wasn't thinking straight. "We should go get your things, Flyte," he whispered, trying to find something else. He shouldn't even be touching her... at all.

Flyte sat up quickly and hugged her knees. "Yeah." She said, closing her eyes and dropping her forehead onto her knees. What the hell was I thinking? Not to mention she had a cold. Oh, she hoped she didn't give it to Masi. She stood up and walked into the living room, hugging her arms. He was twenty, she was sixteen. "Oh dammit." She growled, shoving a pillow in her face.

Masafumi smiled as he sat up. He barely even realized what had happened before. He felt just fine now. No thoughts of smoke or drinking crossed him at all. He turned to the fallen pile of books for a moment to realign them. Then, he managed to pull himself to his feet and walked over to his dresser to find a shirt. "Shirt stealer!" he shouted playfully at Flyte. He knew if Tony was home, seeing Flyte in his shirt would really set him off, but for some reason, Masafumi didn't care.

Flyte smiled and threw the pillow into his room. She couldn't help it. She didn't care what others thought. She never had. Why the hell should she start now? There was a knock on the door, and she immediately knew who it was. "Tony!" She gasped. She forgot she had Masi's shirt on. Half of her wanted to run into her room and hide, but the other half was glad he didn't get washed out into the ocean. She shuddered, then jumped to her feet and scrambled to the door. "You dropped this on the beach." Tony said, as soon as the door opened. He dropped her cellphone into her hands. "Dad wants to know what happened to his house keys. "Oh." Flyte said, just standing there. Tony eyed her, then swepted her into a hug. "Jeez, I'm sorry girl." Flyte stared past his shoulder blankly. "I didn't kill her." She said quietly. "I know, I know."

Masafumi came out of his room, fixing his glasses. He had heard the last part about Flyte's sister and interupted. "Get your drunk ass out of my house, fuck-head," he said as he fixed his hair a little. "We were just coming to see you." Hopefully, the paint on the shirt Flyte was wearing would just make it seem like she was just painting something.

"Don't Masi." Flyte said, pulling away from Tony and glancing back at him. "Doesn't matter, I was leaving anyway. Oh, and y'know Crystal?" Flyte glanced up at him. "Yeah...?" "She dumped me." Flyte froze and gawked at him. He shrugged and turned away. "Whatever Dad says, it wasn't your fault. Don't listen to the shit he says." He slid into his car, gave Flyte a sad, lop-sided smile, and drove away.

Masafumi leaned on the wall. "It's not like I don't have the right to tell him to get lost," he stated in the most sure tone he could find at the moment. "Maybe he won't be there by the time we are." He took his keys off of the coffee table and shrugged.

Flyte was still standing in the doorway, trying to register what he said. "Crystal..." She shook her head in disbelief. Crystal?! She covered her eyes with her hands and wasn't sure what to do. "That's why he got drunk." She murmured. Crystal? Dumped him! But...for five years! Her mind screamed. Possibly one of the only people who had ever cared what Flyte thought, felt, and did. "She helped me stop." Flyte laughed. Dammit, it's not funny! Why am I laughing?

Masafumi walked over to her and rested his chin on her shoulder. "He tried his hardest not to hug her, just in case Tony came back.

"He wasn't telling me everything." Flyte said quietly, not moving. She laughed again. "She took the place of my sister. The one that I killed. What irony." Am I going insane? "Strange, how a six year old can commit a murder." Shut up, I didn't do anything. "Maybe Crystal died. Maybe I'm going to get blamed for that too." She broke down into hysterical laughter, which soon turned to sobs.

Masafumi gave up and slipped his arms around her waist. "You didn't do anything," he stated in a whisper. He knew it probably wouldn't help, but it was all he could really do. After a little while, he felt as if his lungs were blackened once more, but he hid it as well as he possibly could.

Flyte wiped away her tears and forced them to stop. She turned around and hugged Masi back. "No...I didn't do anything." She said quietly. Maybe, someday, Masi would hear the whole story. Maybe. "I love you." What did she just say? Did she mean to?

Masafumi sighed lightly, almost to himself. Why was it so hard to think that age was just a number set on one's life? He tightened his embrace around her. It was just odd. Why did people bother? Four years apart was truly nothing... some couples were ten or more years apart and that was when you needed to worry. His breathing grew shallow after those words, though. I love you, he repeated in his head. Could he reply? Should he? "I love you, too, Flyte," he whispered.

Flyte pulled away, coughing. "If we leave now we might beat-" Her cellphone beeped. She stopped and glanced down at the phone number. "Oh come on." She growled, flipping it open. "Hanging on the hook in the closet, behind the red coat, sir." She said before he even had time to say anything. "Oh, and the coffee pot is where it always is, sir." He muttered something angrily and hung up.

Masafumi tried so hard not to let her go as she pulled away. He had to fight himself to give up and let her slide from his arms. He just took a step back and looked at his feet. What was he going to do now? Nothing, obviously. Right? Of course. He (and myself) was going on a small rant.

Flyte stood still, blinking. "I didn't tell him where he left his works shoes yet." She shrugged and hung up. "Come on, we'd better-" She paused to sneeze, "hurry."

Masafumi smiled and pulled one of his hoodies from a hook. He handed it to Flyte. "It might help," he whispered. He couldn't really find the words. They had been said as it was.

Flyte took it and smiled. "It might." She pulled it on, ran her fingers through her hair, then grabbed Masi's hand and dragged him to the car, because he didn't seem to be moving himself.

Masafumi smiled. He fumbled around in his pocket searching for his keys and managed to get them before they reached the black car. He walked over to the passenger side and opened the door for Flyte with a warm smile.

Flyte stood and crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow. "Why do you do that? Do you think I'm too weak to open a door?" She walked over and pulled open the driver's door, smirking at him. "No magical lock, it appears."

Flyte hopped into the driver's seat and closed the door. "Come on, we definitely not gonna beat him if you keep stalling." She smiled and pulled car keys out of her pocket...his car keys.

Masafumi eyed her for a moment. "You can't drive," he stated, hesitating slightly. She wouldn't try. She might possibly kill the car, or herself.

Flyte stuck it in the ignition and turned on the car. "I can try. I've seen people do it." She shrugged. She'd taught herself other things this way. Cars were no different. "Turn it to reverse, gas, wheel, turn it to drive, gas."

Masafumi stopped. She'll do it, he thought. She really would. He eyed her, starting to think she'd just slam into the tree across the street. "No," he ordered. "I'll drive, then I'll teach you to drive." She probably didn't know the difference from break or gas.
