Flyte urged Past into a trot, looking back at Masafumi. "Why are you at a riding academy if you don't ride often?" She asked. She was just wondering, it seemed an odd thing to do. Whether that was her opinion on joining a riding school, or not riding often, she wasn't sure. Both, maybe.

Masafumi silently asked Ayra to pick up his own gaint to keep up with Past and Flyte. With Flyte's words, came unwanted images of his past. "Past reasons," he stated. "I just needed to be somewhere else."

Flyte could tell she said something wrong, so she turned around again and fell quiet. Her past wasn't tradgic, or sad in anyway. If one looked at it, they might pity her for her lack of friends. But she didn't find that sad. She needed no friends to live, it wasn't an essential part of her life. Sure, she had never shared laughter and secrets, but she had been happy in her own ways. In a strange point of view, she didn't really know the sorrow of not having a friend either. So it worked out.

Masafumi rubbed Ayra's neck. "It could have been worse," he said. "My career kept me silent about it, but being a teenager and traveling because of it didn't help."

Past's trot quickened, but Flyte didn't really pay attention to it. "What was your-" Suddenly Past leaped over a log. Flyte, not expecting the suddenly lerch, almost fell backwards. The force caused her to yank on the reins, amking her horse come to a sudden stop and lean down to get a snip of grass. Flyte tumbled over her neck and landed in a heap on the ground. She quickly curled up, hiding her head between her arms as her shoulders shook. She looked like she was crying, but the shaking was because of her attempt not to burst into laughter.

Ayra leaped over the log, and Masafumi brought the brute to a stop. He dismounted and came by Flyte. "Are you okay?" he asked, sounding worried. He eyed up at the horse. No warning there, eh, buddy?

Flyte giggled, but held back the next one. "Y-yea." Her voice was muffled by her arms and the ground. She bit down on her lowerlip, trying with all her will not to laugh. But the thought of what she looked like...oh, lord, it was hilarious. She broke down into laughter, even though she knew she must look like an idiot. "That was...fun!" She gasped between outbursts.

Masafumi laughed a little. "And here I thought I'd be the one to fall and die!" he said. He just smiled and fell back to the ground to look at the sky between the trees.

Flyte finally stopped and looked over at Past. She was standing still, chomping up grass happily. She flopped back onto her back, next to Masafumi. "You jinxed me." She smiled. "Wow, I've never laughed like that before." She sighed, staring at the cloud that drifted by. Her hair sprayed out around her head, like what happened when you let a drop of ink hit a white surface.

Masafumi was busily looking at the sky. The snow covered tree's blended in too well with the sky and clouds. "I didn't mean to jinx you," he said. "I'm just usually the one who falls and breaks something. I'm not coordinated enough." He smiled to himself as the snow started to fall again. He just let the cold flakes hit his face.

Flyte looked over at him, raising an eyebrow. "I broke my finger when I was seven....by stepping on it. You can't tell me that's coordination. Last time I checked your fingers were three feet away from the bottom of your foot." She opened her mouth and let a snowflake drift inside and land softly on her tongue.

Msafumi sat up. "Thats... amazing," he said, sarcastically. "I've never heard of anyone breaking their finger from stepping on it. That's just... whoa."

Flyte smirked. "Well, now you have." She looked up at him, hugging herself in an attempt to drive out the cold. She looked up at the sky again, as something dark loomed over her. With a quiet nicker, Past nudged her cheek as if asking what she was doing on the ground. "You put me here!" She laughed, pushing the horse's muzzle away and standing up to brush off the snow from her black sweater and riding pants.

Masafumi was too lazy to move. He flopped back down onto the earth and starred back up at the falling sky. Soon, there were splotches of white on his black outfit. He looked over at Ayra, who was eating some uncovered grass. He smiled a little at Flyte and Past. He still didn't want to move, so he laid there. Whether he was forced to get back up or not was beyond him.

Flyte sighed and dropped to the ground again. "If you stand up I'm going to kick you." She laughed. She didn't feel like getting up and down for the next half hour. Past snorted, blowing wisps of hair into her face. She wiped them away, licking her lips and shivering again. "Man, I wish I had brought gloves." She muttered, rubbing her hands together and puling them into her sleeves. "I didn't know it was going to snow." Finally realizing she wasn't getting her owner's attention, Past walked around her and nuzzled her pocket. She could still smell some mints. "Oh, you greedy, spoiled thing." She sighed, uplling out one and giving it to her. "That's the last one. I don't need you getting sick on me." She scolded.

With the mentioning of cold hands, Masafumi cautiously stood up, hoping not to get kicked. He walked over to Ayra and pulled gloves out of his saddle bag. "Might be a little big, but they'll help," he said as he fell back onto the earth and handed the black leather to her.

"Thank you." Flyte smiled, taking them and slipping them on. "Yea, this is much better. Thanks." She smiled shyly and stroked Past's neck as the horse sniffed the ground in an attempt to find any more patches of grass not covered.

Soon, Ayra was lying by the two humans. He didn't appear to mind the snow, though we all know that's probably not true. Masafumi strocked the stallion's muzzle as Ayra breathed his warm breath on Masafumi's face. "Glad I could help," he said with a smile.

"You owe me." Flyte poked his shoulder. "You jinxed me, remember?" She propped herself up with her elbow and looked up at the sky. "Snow is so beautiful. It makes everything look new...before it's been stomped on, I mean."

Masafumi shrugged. "I blame my glasses," he stated with a nod of his head. "It's all their fault." Once the girl started talking about snow... Masafumi decided to do her a favor. He tossed some snow at her and laughed a little to himself.

The snow smacked her square in the face, and she wiped it off. "Hey!" She pouted, scooping up some of her own snow and curving it into a rather sloppy snowball. "Well, I hope this knocks off your darned glasses then!" She said, throwing it at him.

Masafumi didn't really fight it, but he did block his glasses. Soon, he just took them off and tossed them in the snow. Now he was nearly blind. He still took some more snow and tossed it back at her with a smile. "I probably missed that time."

Flyte watched it whizz past her ear. "Eh, you were pretty close." She blinked. "You know, you're kind of...cute without your glasses. Have you ever thought of contacts?" She walked closer and tilted her head.

Masafumi sighed to himself. "Damn, I thought I had you there," he stated with a laugh, but grew silent after she spoke of his lack of glasses... and he just smiled and turned to look at the sky, which looked like a mass of white to him. He just shrugged. "I don't know. I guess I've never really bothered with them since, in Japan, no one found them as... pathetic as they do here. My poor eyesight doesn't change me in the least."

"I don't find it pathetic." She turned around and kicked some snow lightly. "My sister had terrible eye sight too." She muttered. Past, giving up on her search, lifted her head to look at her rider. Her eyes prodded for another mint, but Flyte was staring at the ground.

Stretching his arms to the mass of white, Masafumi sighed. "I guess it wouldn't kill me to get some..." he said. "It's just that doctors scare the shit out of me." He laughed a little. His arms fell back into the snow and the white fluffs exploded out around them.

Flyte raised her eyebrows. "That's a pretty common fear, so you aren't alone. I'm scared of water. I can't go farther than waist deep without spazzing." She smirked and turned onto her back. "Almost drowned as a kid. Sorta leaves a scar, y'know?"

Masafumi sat up and stretched again, reaching over for his glasses, which he had to dig into the snow for. He moved them around in his hands, feeling the glass and fine plastic. Slowly, he shrugged. "Water isn't... too bad. It's nice and calming," he said. "Especially in Japan." He smiled and put his glasses on his face once more.

"You like Japan, don't you? Why don't you go back there?" She sat up and crossed her legs. Past was standing next to her, looking woeful. This had turned out to be a pretty uneventful pleasure ride. Flyte reached up and brushed some snow off her shoulder.

Masafumi looked over and smiled. "Bad memories... Japan is nice and all, but I need away from that," he turned back to the sky. "What about you? What's your fantasy place?"
