Flyte leaned against the stall, watching the haflinger munch on her hay. The horse snorted and shook her creamy-white mane as if saying "Stop staring at me!". Flyte smiled, but obediantly turned to look down the isle. "I don't know why I like you. You're nothing like vett. He was an appy, black and white. he was gentle, and careful." The haflinger snorted again and nudged Flyte's hand to see if she had any treats. "And he wasn't so greedy." She laughed, turning around and kissing Past's forehead before she could pull back and continue eating. "But I love you anyways." She sighed dreamily, watching her horse again.

Masafumi was sitting down the way in front of a stall. He was looking in on Ayra, the chestnut stallion of Oceanic. For once, he was without a book. He was just looking at the horse, wondering what it would be like to own such a creature. He wasn't one to show off, no. He never has been, though he sometimes pissed his past singing career that left him once he moved to America.
Sighing to himself, Masafumi turned away from Ayra's stall and looked up at the ceiling. Was moving here best for him and his old friends and his family? Was it just one huge mistake that braught him to a beautiful place? Only the heaven's knew at the moment. He wasn't even completely sure.

Suddenly aware of another in the stable, Flyte spun around. Her black hair whipped her face gently, then settled back into it's original place. Upon seeing the boy she knelt down and started gathering her books and quickly shoving them into her bag. When she stood up her strap broke and they all came tumbling back to the ground. Sucking in her breath she knelt down again, silently cursing her bag.

Masafumi hadn't noticed anyone else in the barn, but apon the dropped books, he looked over with surprise. Amazingly, he didn't jump at the sudden loud noise. Maybe it was because of his own dropping of books, or possibly because he was actually calm for once with no worries in his head. Soon, Masi walked over to the girl and helped pick up the books in silence. He rarely ever spoke unless he was spoken to first.

Flyte looked away as he came over, holding her breath. When he started helping her she quickly shoved everything else in her bag and picked it up. She stood up hurriedly, biting her lower lip. Do I say something? She turned to Past, as if she would have the answer. The horse didn't even glance at her. "Th-thank you." She swallowed, staring at the floor. Her shoes were black converse sneakers. Like she didn't know that.

Masafumi smiled as he handed her the book he had picked up before he seemed to frighten her. "Not a problem," he said lightly. "That happens all the time. You might need a new bag now, though." Though he stayed light, he still felt odd. No one had really spoken to him since he had come to Oceanic.

"Yea." Flyte muttered under her breath. "Like I can afford that." It had taken all of the money, birthday, holiday, and mucking money, along with money from her parents, just to get her here. Past cost her even more, and she was on her last dollar bills. There was no way she'd get a new bad.
Past stuck her neck over the stall door and nudged Flyte. "Alright." She sighed, reaching into her pocket and giving the horse a mint. She greedily snatched it from her hand and turned away, leaving her palm covered in slime. Not seeming to care she adjusted her bag to the other hip, and dared a glance up at the boy. A quick glint of her green eyes before she turned and started walking away.

Masafumi shrugged. "If there's anyway I can help, I will," he offered. He looked in on her horse.

"You think I would be so rude to ask a stranger for money?" She asked, not turning around to face him. The thought disgusted her. She had been home schooled until 8th grade, and her parents (her father, mostly) had taught her many other things other than math problems and earth history. Manners were used 24/7 in her house. Don't ask someone to go over their house, don't put your elbows on the table, never ask anyone for money or items unless they offer. Wait until someone finishes speaking before replying...the list went on forever.

Masafumi shrugged. "Just an offer," he stated. "I know what money problems are like." Of course his money problems changed after his music career had started. He knew those problems would come back now that he didn't sing or play guitar very often. "The offer is always good, though, miss," he said and returned to Ayra's stall.

Why was this boy interesting her so much? She didn't like other people, but this boy was....strange. He was... Like me. She thought grimly. Which is never a good thing. "My name isn't miss. It's Flyte." She said, turning around and walking back to her horse's stall. "We're going for a ride, girl." She said, dropping her bag and disappearing into the tack room. She came back a second later with a saddle slung over one arm and the bridle over her shoulder. Maybe the boy would talk to her more. She knew, though would enver admit it, that she actually wanted to make a friend. To be a friend, to another human being.

Masafumi smiled. "Of course it isn't," he stated. "Flyte's an interesting name," he stated. "Though I suppose mine would be no better." He didn't realize that he hadn't introduced himself yet. He had no need to yet, concidering that he never really spoke to anyone. He stretched his arms a little. I should have brought my book, he thought.

Flyte shurgged. "I guess. Was hated a lot as a child because of it though." She closed her mouth and turned away to put the saddle on. Had she just said that? Though talking wasn't her thing she knew she had to change the subject before he said anything else about it. "Is that your horse?" She asked, nodding to Ayra.

Masafumi felt it best not to make any comments to her childhood. Though, when she spoke of Ayra, he just shrugged. "Sadly, no," he said. "I can't ride anyway. I'd end up killed. He laughed a little at himself.

"No you wouldn't." Flyte wrapped her arms around Past's neck. "Horses may hurt you, but unless they're wild, they would never kill you. They know not to." She sighed and buried her face in her horse's mane. Past grunted and pawed at the ground, mad that all her hay was gone. But she allowed Flyte to bridle her. Grabbing her green helmet she pulled it on and opened the stall door. "Do you want to buy her? If so, I wouldn't go around offering to give people money." She stood next to him, staring at Past's head. The mare stood silently in the isle, waiting to be led outside.

Masafumi sighed. "No, horses for me, I'm afraid," he shrugged. "I have little time and when I do, I'm trying to revive my past." He looked through the stall window. He strocked Ayra's head and moved the forelock from his eyes. Slowly, he ajusted his glasses and turned to Flyte and Past.

"Afraid of what?" Flyte asked softly, still avoiding eye contact. Finally she stuck her foot in the stirrup and swung her other leg over the saddle. Her fingers combed through the mare's mane. She had groomed her just before Masafumi arrived, and her coat was glossy and looked healthier than when she got her. She glanced shyly down at the male, not used to being above others.

OOC: God, no one understands a damn Brittish bit! XD
BIC Masafumi laughed. "Guess my trip to England a while back didn't help my English any," he said. "I'm not really afraid of anything. It's just a figure of speach." He strocked Ayra's muzzle once more before putting full attention to Flyte, but when he turned around again, he found Flyte mounted. "Wasn't expecting that."

For some reason, Flyte felt her cheeks burn red. Trying to make it go away she leaned forward so her hair blocked her face. Past allowed the girl to put her weight on the mare's neck, but was not quite comfortable with it. As if sensing this, the girl sat up again and looked away. "If you...want to...you can come riding with me. We could switch off, or you could use the school's horses...if there are any." She blinked, not really having explored much. She wasn't sure if there were school horses the students could use or not.

Masafumi smiled. "I'd like that," he said turning to Ayra. "What do you think, boy?" The stallion seemed to nod his head, though he didn't really care. "I'll be right back. If I fall and die..." he said, teasing.

Flyte smiled slightly. She wasn't one to act happy around others, but she made a slight exception. "If you do then may I fall and die also." She vowed, holding up her hand in oath. Past shifted beneath her, ready to go. This was only the fifth time Flyte had ridden her, and she liked the way the girl rode.

Masafumi laughed as he walked down the hall to the tack room, returning out with Ayra's bridle and saddle. He silently tacked the stallion, hoping he'd at least remember how to ride... without falling and breaking his arm.

Flyte sroked Past's neck to calm her. "We'll ride soon, be patient." She cooed softly, under her breath in attempt for Masafumi not to hear. With a sudden start she remembered something. "What's your name, anyway?"

Masafumi checked the girth and then looked over at Flyte. "Wow, I knew I was forgetting something," he said. "My name's Masafumi Gotou." He smiled. His name was long and anoying, though. "You can just call me Masi or something." He led the stallion out of his stall.

"Masafumi." Flyte repeated. It was foreign to her tongue, but she liked the way it sounded. Mental note:, She thought to herself, squeezing Past's sides slightly so she would move forward and give the by room. Never use nickname.

Soon, he was mounted on the chestnut's saddle. "Right now," he began. "I wish I wasn't afraid of heights." He laughed at himself. He just shrugged it off and ignored it.

"I was afraid of heights when I was younger..." Flyte nudged Past and the mare obediantly started forward at a fast walk. Deciding not to finish her sentence she started on a new one. "Where do you want to go?"

Masafumi shrugged. "This fear's always haunted me," he said, but with the change of the subject came yet another sentence... "Anywhere, I guess."
OOC: I just cannot get a good post out right now. Ack.

Flyte turned Past toward the dirt path leading through the woods. "The trails then." She loved trail rides. Along with the nature, it was pleasure riding AND some logs to jump. Both of which was Past's specialty.
