"This your house?" Kamion asked, coming up to the door. He didn't bother waiting for Flyte to answer, his arms were getting tired. he paused, wondering what he was going to do. He couldn't knock, nor just open the door. He glanced down at the girl in his arms. "Er...Flyte? Some help would be good."

Flyte was struggling with herself, trying not to fall asleep and also trying to push Pierre's words out of her head. She almost missed what Kam said. "Just go-" Her voice cracked. "In." She whispered. Then closed her eyes and sighed faintly. But she fought the sleep that was trying to take over. She wouldn't sleep.

Kamion sighed along with her, then looked at the door. He really didn't want to barge in. He had some trouble opening the door, but when he finally did he glanced around, then put her on the couch, not wanting to investigate rooms to figure out which was hers. He turned to leave, then stopped and looked around. No one seemed to be there, and he didn't really want to leave her alone. He rubbed the back of his neck and watched her quietly, not sure what to do. She probably didn't want him there, like she always did, but what if she needed help with something? He hated being home alone and sick, it was torture to get his own food with a fever. He sighed, yet again, then knelt down and put his hand on his forehead to see how hot she was.

Flyte was half relieved when she was put onto the sofa, half uncertain. A more comfortable place meant harder time trying not to sleep. She opened her eyes and blinked at Kam as he put his hand on her burning forehead, then closed them again and felt her conscious slipping away. No...don't...sleep... It was a feeble attempt, but she could still sense her surroundings. That was also slipping away though, and she knew it wouldn't be long before she was out cold. What if she started screaming in her sleep with Kamion there? She'd never be able to live that down.

"You're burning up." Kamion said, surprised. He quickly pulled his hand back and stood back up, wondering how she could have gotten sick so quickly. She was probably sick that whole time. He thought grimly, then looked around and tried to figure out what to do next. He didn't know where anything was, so he couldn't get her pillows or blankets, or even a wet cloth. He felt so helpless.

Falone had hopped onto the top of the couch, and was looking around. He couldn't see any blue birds, or cats, and this worried him. To Flyte, Kam's voice sounded far away. She couldn't reply, she was losing the silent battle that she had won for the past two days, but she was trying her best not to. I can't...fall asleep, dammit!

Soon Masafumi was back at the condo. He drove into the driveway rather slowly and stopped. He opened the door to let the dogs out then he opened the door for Mila. "We're home," he said as he started for the front door. He was going to unlock it, but he found that it had already been oponed. He probably forgot to lock it the first time. He let the dogs and Mila in then fallowed in himself. He decided it best to ignore Kam. He knew Flyte was tired as hell so he went straight to his room and put the gun away. When he returned, he had a lighter and a pack of ciggeretes.

Kamion nearly jumped out of his skin as Masafumi came in. He stepped back and watched with wide eyes as the man went into a room and came out again. He glanced at the cigarette, swallowed his words, and glanced at Flyte again. "She, um..." Kam started, then paused and looked up at Masafumi again. "She got sick." He whispered uncertainly.

Mila walked in, glad to be back in the strange house, but stopped in surpirse as she spotted a stranger. She tilted her head and watched him as the two dogs streamed past her. For once, Sharda was faster than Dimitre in getting to the familiar scent. He was at Flyte's side quickly, and sniffed her hand. Dimitre stopped next to Sharda, then turned and growled at Kam, baring his teeth in a warning. The teenager moved her hand slightly, and the old greyhound took it was an invitation. Without hesitation he leaped onto the couch, curled up in the crook of her legs, and settling down with his head on her knee.

Masafumi took a deep breath as he fell into the chair. He was more then annoyed at this point. "Just don't fuck with me boy," he shot. He felt odd calling Kam "boy," but he ignored it. "She just needs to get some sleep anyway. She just won't. Dreams are a figment of one's imagination, Flyte. Forget them... By the way... Pierre isn't dead. How many times do you need to shoot someone before they die? Tony will be dead soon though. He's a lying sack of scum. I swear he's on Pierre's side."

Kamion stepped back again. "S-sorry." He mumbled, glancing around. He had no idea what the man was talking about, but he did wonder why Flyte hung out with him. He looked too young to be her father, but he didn't look related to her. That can't be her boyfriend, can it? He thought wildly. Why would Flyte want to be with him and not with Kam? He seemed...mean, to say the least, and he smoked. Kamion hated when people smoked. Now he really didn't want to leave Flyte, but he also was sort of scared to stay there. He glanced at Mila and the large dogs, and felt his head start to spin.

"I told you...Pierre can't...die." Flyte mumbled, getting some of her consciousness back. Dimitre turned and licked her hand, wagging his tail lightly. When Flyte made no response he laid his head by hers and whimpered. "Not now Dimi-" She stopped and her eyes fluttered open to stare the black dog for a second. Confusion etched across her face, and she sat up quickly, only to fall back down as a wave of dizzniess hit her. She waited until the stars went away, then put her hand on Sharda's head. "Mase-A-fumi and me doggies bring!" Mila chirped happily.

Masafumi smiled. "We thought you'd like your buddies," he told her. For a moment, he sat there looking at the ciggerete box and the lighter. Then he just tossed them by the oil burner. Soon he got up and dissapeared into the kitchen and returned with a bottle of water. He knelt down next to Flyte and smiled, holding the bottle out for her. "It's cold," he whispered. "I'm going to finish your wall, okay? So you can have Past to look at instead of a white blob of nothing. Maybe I can etch in some fur. Come on, Mila. You can help me paint."

Kamion rubbed the back of his neck. What just happened? He wondered, though a slight flash of jealousy ran through him. He'd been no less kind to Flyte, and she still hated him. Why was this strange man any different? He glanced at the cigarettes again and then at the little girl. Who the heck is 'Pierre' and 'Tony'? He shook his head, too afraid to ask. "I'll just...be...going now." He said it more to Flyte than anyone else. "I'll be where I always am if you need me...like that will happen." He muttered the last part, shot Masafumi another jealous glance, and walked out.

Flyte nodded numbly, not sure what to say, and took the bottle. She sunk back down on the couch and closed her eyes again. Sharda took the bottle gently in his mouth and held it there for Flyte, watching her as his tail wagged slightly. "I paint can! We mash up berries?" Mila asked excitedly, hopping over to Masafumi and blinking at him with shining eyes. It was so easy to make little kids happy. Dimitre licked Masi's chin when he knelt down, and he wagged his tail a bit harder.

Masafumi strocked the dog lightly. "That's already done," he said to Mila. "Get better, Flyte." He kissed her cheek then looked at her. Sympathy ran through him. All the things she's had to endure must have made life a pure hell to live in. "Get some sleep..." He got up and started walking into Flyte's room to paint.

Flyte couldn't reply, she was already fast asleep. Mila and Dimitre followed Masafumi, and Sharda stayed where he was. Falone eventually hopped down and made himself comfortable between the dog and Flyte's legs, also falling asleep.
~~~~~~~~
"Don't leave me, Masi!" A loud scream woke Flyte up, and it took her a second to realize it was her own. She cringed and curled up almost instinctively, rousing the sleeping dog and raven. Sharda lifted his head drowsily and blinked at her, trying to figure out what had happened.
Masafumi had fallen asleep in Flyte's room on accident. He didn't want to wake up either. He found it odd that the room didn't smell like Flyte, but maybe she wasn't living there long enough. Slowly, he opened his eyes and sat up.
Dimitre was curled up on the floor, and Mila was sleeping with her head on his stomach. He lifted his head and pricked his ears when Flyte screamed, but didn't move otherwise. Sharda watched Flyte stumble from the sofa and into the kitchen, where she collapsed on the floor with a small sob. He slunk off the couch, shook himself, then trotted over to her, and licked her cheek. Sin, who was laying on a kitchen chair, opened his eyes and hissed angrily at the dog, waking up the bluebird, who had somehow gotten onto the top of the cabinets.
Masafumi took off out of the room when he heard something fall. He slid onto his knees when he saw Flyte. "Are you okay?" he asked, a little frantic. He lifted her up a little and smiled. "You have to be okay... I'll make breakfast today. You don't have to do anything. Then again, you didn't have to to begin with..."
Flyte swallowed and nodded, clinging onto Masafumi like a kitten. If anything she felt worse than yesterday, but maybe eating would help. "Why won't he leave me alone?" She whimpered. "Why won't his words leave me?" She buried her head in his shirt and Sharda licked her again. Mila sat up and yawned, rubbing one eye. Free of the extra weight, Dimitre stood up, stretched, and trotted into the living room, stopping by the sofa and staring at Falone.
Masafumi sighed. "Because he's not dead," he said, holding her tighter. "It's one big game of Monopoly and we don't own all the shots yet. We're broke, even... but we'll be okay." He hoped he could keep that as a promise, but he wasn't sure so he kept quiet. Slowly, he started to stand up, bringing Flyte with him. He walked her into the living room and laid her back down on the couch. He lit an insence and started walking into the kitchen. He had lit one that Flyte would like; rain. He started making toast and hashbrowns. He didn't want to make anything that might make her sick.
Flyte allowed herself to be pulled to her feet and walked to the couch. She hesitated to get on it though, and was even more reluctant to let go of Masafumi. Sharda trotted after them, replacing Dimitre who walked into the kitchen and under the table. Sinistre let out another hiss, then jumped to the ground. He slinked across the floor with his stomach close to the ground and his tail fluffed out, evil-eying Masi as he passed him. Mila slowly stood up and trudged into the living room, yawning again.
Masafumi looked over his shoulder. "I'm making breakfast," he told the girl. "Not too much, though. I'm going to look at a house later, Flyte..." Soon the toaster popped and Masafumi started walking back into the kitchen. He put the toast on a plate and put some hashbrowns besides it. Then he was back with Flyte and he handed her the plate with a fork. "You need to get better." He returned into the kitchen then back once more with another plate for Mila.
Flyte took the plate, but didn't touch any of the food. Dimitre had wandered back into the living room, and was looking at Flyte with big eyes. "No begging." She said sternly, and he quickly sat down and blinked innocently. "Want to show off to Masi?" Dimitre wagged his tail, and she smiled slightly. "Kumesto Lebreudo." She whispered, and the dog pricked his ears, then stood up again, and went even further now, balancing on his hind legs. She paused, not sure if she should do the next one, but the black Greyhound was looking at her expectantly, and he couldn't stay like that for long. "Bam!" She said it with as much energy as she could muster, and the dog collapsed onto his side, perfectly limp. "Good boy..." She tossed his a piece of the hash brown, and he scrambled to his feet to catch it in the air, then wolfed it down. Sharda had remained uninterested the whole time, just watching wth sullen eyes. She turn and gave him a piece, which he sniffed before cautiously taking it in his mouth and eating it much slower than Dimitre.
Masafumi sat down on his chair, not wanting to eat. He felt sick. He had really screwed up the day before, but his painting of the horse was better then ever. It almost looked like it could jump off the wall and go for a ride. For a moment, he looked over at the pack of ciggeretes that he had left the night before, but quickly shook the thought.
Flyte wasn't eating either. She had sunk back onto the couch, eyes closed. Mila had already eaten the toast and was inspecting the hash browns; something she had never seen before. When a familiar beeping went off, Flyte rolled over onto her stomach. "Go get it Sharda." She mumbled, and the old dog quickly picked up a trot into her room. "Man, it's great having these thr- two here." Grief passed over her face for a second, but it quickly disappeared as Sharda came back with her cellphone held gingerly in his mouth. She took it from him as it rang again, opening it without bothering to check the phone number. "Bonjour." She said warily, and the voice on the other line murmured something back. She closed her eyes and sighed. "Mm." Was all she replied. "Yeah, sure." She listened a bit more, her voice dropping to a whisper. "No. I won't-" She paused as she was interrupted, and she rubbed her forehead. "Fine." She said hoarsely before closing the phone and dropping it on the ground. With a grunt that could have meant a lot of things, she buried her face in the arm of the chair. "Mila, get ready to see your beloved cows again, and your brothers." Her muffled voice just barely came through. "Jorone and Remuso here come?" The girl asked, confused. "No, we're going to them."
Masafumi shot up. "No!" he shouted. "If they want you back in India, hell no! I don't trust anyone! You're staying here.." He felt bad for blowing up, but he didn't want Flyte to leave. It would be one thing if it was just a trip. He would even go, but it wasn't. He knew Mila might take offence to him saying that he didn't trust anyone. It wasn't the people of India, it was the people who might be there. People that might work for Pierre and possibly Tony. He liked Mila. She was a good artist too. If they stayed, he planned on teaching her guitar and drums if he could.
Flyte looked up at him unflinchingly. "So you don't trust me?" She hadn't really meant it as a question for him to answer, so she continued. "My parents want me-" Her voice cracked again, forcing it into a whisper, "to go. They're my parents, Masi, I have to do what they say. And besides, Mila's brothers need her." She also felt way to nauseous to try and fight, but she figured she shouldn't tell Masafumi that.
Masafumi looked away and stood up. "But I'm your boyfriend," he insisted quietly. There was no way she could have heard, though. "If you go, odds of me ever seeing you again are slim, Flyte. I can't do long distant... I'd die without you here anyway. My 'trip to Japan was hell... I missed you and I was only gone for a few days." Soon he was in his room. The smell of insence drifted back into the living room and music could be heard just a bit.
