Flyte rubbed her forehead warily. "That's not the point." She said, her voice frosted over. She closed her eyes and shivered. It was, by far, the most horrific thing that ever happened to her. It had haunted her at first, but after a while she forgot about the tattoo being there. She forgot why she put on a sweater over things that showed her back.

Masafumi carefully went over to her. "Calm down," he said. Mine showed up one morning after I drank." He rubbed his back a little. "Luckily I got to miss the pain."

Flyte bit down on her lip, furrowing her eyebrows in frustration. "It was worse than drowning." She managed to choke out before shivering and clawing at her face. "Why, why, why!?" She cried, every detail coming back to her. Fear formed a lump in her throat and she burst into tears, rocking back and forth.

Masafumi shivered a little. Soon, he wrapped his arms around her, stopping her from moving. It would be bad if he fell, but if she fell... it would be even worse. He just held her in silence, not finding any words.

Flyte continued to sob, burying her face in her arms and trembling. "I didn't do anything wrong, I didn't!" She stammered between sobs, then shook violently and bit into her arm to muffle a loud wail.

Closing his eyes, Masafumi tightened his grip on her. "You've never done anything wrong, Flyte," he assured her. Soon he began singing in Japanese to try to sooth her.

Flyte finally calmed down, though tears still fell down her face. She sat there, eyes closed, and gasped for breath. She pressed closer to him, still shaking and let out a trembling sigh.

After a few minutes, Masafumi stopped singing. Well, at least it worked. It worked for him his entire life from his mother. "It's fine now..." he whispered, not letting go. Knowing their luck, Tony would show up, but he didn't care. She needed comforting, not someone trying to get on her ass all the time.

"He said it was my fault she died." Flyte said, then paused to take several more deep breathes. "He was so angry at me, but I...I didn't do anything. It wasn't my fault, but he thought it was. It was eight years after...he just went mad with fury. And he...he...he..." She swallowed and buried her face against him for a second before pulling back and continuing, all the while trembling. "He was so strong. He tied me to the chair and started...he...he knew my name in school. He knew I hated it. The Black...Rose..." She swallowed two more times. "It hurt s-so much and I screamed and screamed but...he...." She started crying again, only silently this time. She buried her face in Masi's shoulder and wimpered.

Masafumi sighed. "Come on," he said, running his hands through Flyte's hair. "You're a good person. You're completely perfect. Don't worry..." He just held her tight. He didn't know what to do. Or say for that matter. She seemed so alone, but he didn't want her to be. Why was this so hard. It was a tattoo, but she was so sad. "You're not anything like a black rose... You're a red one." He knew it sounded stupid, but he didn't know what else to say. The black rose didn't fit her at all. Why would anyone do this to her? Whoever did it, needed to get killed.

Flyte finally calmed down and pulled away, wiping her eyes. There was a large wet stain on Masi's shirt where her tears had fallen. "I'm so s-sorry." She whispered. "I n-never told anyone b-before."

"Flyte," he whispered. What was he supposed to do? Being the idiot he was, he leaned over and kissed her. Just on the cheek, just in case she didn't want him anywhere near her. That was a little understandable, but still.

Flyte touched her cheek and blinked at him. And then, slowly, she gave him a small smile. "It hurt too much inside, I had to let it out." She looked away, at the moon, still smiling. "I'm sorry." She said again. "I don't expect you to listen to me babble about my past problems and such."

Masafumi was soon right next to her, touching her side with his. "You'd listen to mine," he said in a hushed tone. He still wasn't sure if it was the best thing to do, but he wanted to do it, and he did. He just sighed a little. He probably screwed up. For now, it didn't matter. They were alone, in a tree, in the woods, watching the stars...

Flyte nodded, stilling staring at the moon. After going three days without it, she couldn't pry her eyes away from it if she wanted to. "I'd love to..."

Masafumi smiled a little. "Come on, let's get home or something," he said. He really didn't want to be in the tree anymore for some reason. It was a special place now, yes, but still.

Flyte sighed and nodded again. "Yeah. That might be a good idea." She dropped of the branch and landed on the one below, then started climbing down the rest.

Masafumi fallowed after her, being as careful as he could. It wouldn't be fun if he fell at all. He just kept worrying about it, so odds are he would fall... all the way down on his ass. Luckily, he didn't When he touched earth, he sighed lightly and smiled.

Flyte had already cut off her other sleeve and had the sweater, now more like a vest, back on. She wrapped the wire as best as she could with the sleeve carnage, snapped the knife shut, and slipped it into her back pocket again. "Come on." She said, glancing around at the darkened woods. "There's a reason I sleep high up in the tree."

Masafumi smiled. "I know, I hear wolves at night sometimes," he said. "Well, let's get out of here then." He started walking the direction of the town.

Flyte nodded, and followed. She stayed behind him and tested the cuts on her hand that the barbed wire had given her. They weren't that bad at all, just normal cuts, a little bigger than cat scratches.

Masafumi looked over his shoulder and smiled. "I won't make you stay at my place if it's nice. Other wise, I'll lock you in your room if I have to," he teased.

Flyte looked up at him and wrinkled her nose. "Haha." She said sarcastically, before looking down at the wire. "This would be quite useful to hang yourself. It'd make it more interesting too..."

Masafumi stopped then turned to her. He silently took the barb wire away from her and continued on. The entire thought was so wrong. He sighed to himself. He didn't need to protect her. He knew he didn't, but he just wanted to. It felt right.

Flyte pouted and crossed her arms. She glared at the back of his head for a second before looking away. "I wasn't going to. It was just a thought." She sighed. "Besides, if I wanted to kill myself, I have a knife." But she didn't want to kill herself. Sometimes she did, yes, but she never actually did anything, despite the rumors.

Masafumi looked over his shoulder. "Don't tempt me," he said, and stuck out his toungue as if a child. He laughed a little and continued on. They both had their own problems and secrets. Some were worse then other's of course, but he wanted to keep them to a minimum.

Flyte was about to stick her tongue back out at him but a noise behind her made her leap forward several feet, slamming into Masi. She immediately had her knife whipped out and pressed against Tony's throat. He had her other arm behind her back.

Masafumi turned around the moment Flyte touched him. What was going on? Tony... he thought. He had been stalking them! What did he think they would do? Masafumi noticed Tony's arm trying to make it harder for Flyte to do anything. He pulled him off in an instant and pulled Flyte back before she really did jab her brother in the throat. "Stalker," he spat.

Antoine rubbed his neck and smiled. "Only a midnight stroll. Trust me, I didn't plan on running into you. Damn, Fly, you're getting good." She had made a slight cut in his neck, and he wiped the blood away. "Next time I will slit your throat." She hissed angrily, narrowing her eyes.

Masafumi eyed him in silence. Stroll my ass, he thought. He was tempted to say it, but he didn't want to start anything more. Then again... "Come on, Flyte," he said. "Let's go home before Stalker Boy thinks up any more brilliances."
