Flyte darted through the woods, ignoring the branches that smacked her face. She fell several times, but she just got up and started running again. Deers were fast, she knew, but she knew where to go. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she was asking herself what the hell she was doing, but the rest of her body insisted on going. And so she did, following the white tail consistently.

Masafumi ran after her, not running his full speed. She'd have to stop eventually. The woods would get too dense to run any further into after a while. Maybe that wouldn't stop Flyte, but maybe Masafumi could stop her from going any deeper in. He sighed to himself. "Flyte, come on!"

Flyte didn't hear him. She finally skidded to a stop in front of the deer. It glanced at her, and she froze, thinking it would run away again. But instead it stuck it's nose in a bush and looked up at Flyte again. She cautiously walked closer, keeping an eye on the animal as she leaed over and brushed the leaves away. Sitting in a pile of moss was a fawn, a barbed wire wrapped around it's leg and a large cut in it's cheek. Flyte's breath caught in the back of her throat and she reached out to feel it's pulse. The fawn was still alive.

Masafumi stopped once she did. He didn't want to get too close since he'd probably scare the deer off again. That would probably make Flyte blast away too. Soon he noticed what she was looking at; a fawn. It must have been a late one. The barb wire didn't seem to help it either. Slowly, he took a few steps to them. He took a small knife from his pocket. Stay still, little guy," he whispered. He nelt by the fawn and cut the wire away from it's body.

The doe snorted angrily and nipped at Masi, but Flyte quickly interesepted her. "We're helping." She muttered softly. The doe pawed at the ground and made several fearful grunts. "Show me how, my darling... Teach me your dreams..." Flyte began the softest song she could think of at the moment. "I thought I saw you, Dancing in the street. I'd tell you my words, And speak the truth, But sometimes it, Just won't work." The doe stood still, staring at her with new interest. She reached out and stroked it's shoulder gently. "The heavens collapse, And Hell divides. But you and me... We will survive." She slowly worked her hand up the deer's neck until she was stroking it's nose. Her fingers trembled, but she continued to sing softly, soothing the scared doe.

Soon the barb was away from the deer. Masafumi quickly moved it away from her, just incase she moved and got pricked again. He got pricked a few times himself and even scratched his leg as he tossed it off, but he was happy to help. He'd toss the barb once the deer and her fawn left. Then he would deal with the matter of who had left it there in the first place.

Flyte kept singing, moving away from the doe and over to her baby. The fawn trembled, but could do nothing otherwise. Flyte pulled off her sweater, revealing an open back shirt underneath. She ended the song and started a new one, pulling a small knife from her back pocket ((OMG! xDDDDDD)) and cutting off a sleeve. She leaned forward and started wrapping it around it's wound. Her hair fell forward, revealing a tattoo of a black rose, blood on the petal tips, on her left shoulder blade.

Masafumi looked at the tattoo and shrugged. He didn't want to mention it, just in case she didn't really want it to be revealed to him. He had so many thoughts cross his mind, but he faught them. Soon, he took the barb wire and stood up, sighing. What was he supposed to do?

Flyte tied it and sat back on her heels with a sigh. "That'll stop the bleeding, but it might get infected." But it was the best she could do. The doe seemed to wake up, and she snorted, shoving Flyte away and sniffing her fawn. Flyte stood up and backed away slowly.

Masafumi sighed again. "We should go back," he whispered. "It'll be fine and the sleeve will fall off soon." He was running the wire through his hands, even though he was getting scraped. He was nervous for some reason. He didn't like the feeling. It wasn't right at all.

Flyte had various scratches on her face, but nothing bad. She turned to look at Masi, blinking for a second, before grabbing the wire and pulling it away from it. She could feel it dig into her skin, but it didn't really hurt. "Don't do that!" She sighed, still keeping her voice low. "Yeah, we should." She was completely oblivious to the fact that her tattoo was showing.

Masafumi closed his eyes, slightly embaressed. He offered her his hand to help her up. "You're a good soul, Flyte," he whispered. He felt so stupid, but ,at the moment, he didn't seem to care. She deserved to hear things like that. It was good for the both of them.

Flyte grabbed his hand and pulled herself to her feet. "Yeah?" She murmured, wrapping the sweater around the wire. "Tell that to the rest of the world." She turned and started walking back.

Masafumi sighed. What was he to do now? He looked at the deer once Flyte was far enough away that he could whisper to them. "What do you think?" he asked them silently. He just sighed, but still watched them, as if waiting for their answer.

The doe looked up and blinked at him. After a moment she tilted her head and glanced at Flyte. The girl was still walking away, not really aware that Masi wasn't following. She was lost in her own world at the moment.

He sighed and whispered a thank you to the two creatures. Then Masi trotted after Flyte in silence. "So where to now?" he asked once he caught up with her.

Flyte turned and looked at him, her eyes blank for a second as she pulled herself back to earth and registered his sentence. As soon as she did this, she smiled. "I want to show you something." She whispered. It didn't seem right to break the silent melody the forest was creating. She took his hand and started dragging him through the forest.

Masafumi didn't object. He had no reason to. He was in the woods with a girl that could possibly be the one of his dreams. Maybe anyway. She probably didn't feel the same and he couldn't blame her. He just wasn't... most people's type.

It wasn't that long until they stopped in front of a humongous oak tree. Branches stuck out everywhere, starting from about two feet up the trunk. She dropped the sweater at the base and touched the bark gently. "Follow me." Flyte stepped onto the first branch and started her way up, climbing with perfect ease. And why wouldn't she, after climbing trees for eight years?

Masafumi stuck his hands in his pockets. "You're... crazy right?" he asked wearily. He never climbed a tree in his life. He just starred at her, but eventually sighed and fallowed up after her. I feel so stupid. Man, why couldn't we just be on my roof? I can climb a trellis.

Flyte got about half way up then stopped and cautiously sat down. "If you think I'm crazy than you don't have to hang out with me." She smiled and waited for him to either climb back down and walk away, or join her on the tree branch.

"Because you're too damn..." he cut himself off once he got to her. He sighed and laughed at himself. He couldn't tell her anything really.

Flyte smiled and closed her eyes, hands folded in her lap. "Okay, this may sound stupid, but it pays off. Just don't think. Don't use any of your senses, and don't talk. You'll ruin the tree's song." She fell silent then. She must have looked quite strange, but she didn't care. She wasn't thinking.

Masafumi just did as he was told. There was no use arguing really since he'd end up loosing anyway. Slowly, he stuck his hands in his pockets and leaned on the trunk of the tree and slid down to sit on the branch. What was he thinking? Nothing, obviously.

Flyte could already feel it. The soft vibrating, coming from within the tree. She continued to sit, not impatient, but not patient either. She knew it would take as long as it wanted. But it must have been a good day, because she could feel the song. She was the song. She could feel it, taste it, hear it. It drained her of energy, and yet it filled her with it too. It slowly faded away, and she found herself back in her own mind. Can Masi do it? Was her first thought. She didn't move. She could feel something touching her now. Slowly, she opened her eyes and glanced over at Masi.

He had his eyes closed, half asleep. The stars had taken over for the sun's raise. He sighed a little. What was his plan now? He didn't have one, of course. He just sat quietly, awaiting for something, anything. Flyte's words or for the sound of an owl to take them off. He just kept his hands burried in his pockets and opened his eyes.

Flyte had already turned her gaze back to the sky. She was still perfectly still, and a bird was sitting on her shoulder, cleaning it's feathers. It was completely unaware of the fact that the thing it was on wasn't the tree. Flyte finally raised her arms and stretched, causing the bird to give a startled chirp and hastily fly away. She turned and watched it leave, then fell back so she was dangling from the branch by her knees.

Masafumi smiled, but moved a little once she flipped over. He knew she wouldn't fall. She had obviously done this all before. He just sighed and relaxed a little. Why should he worry so? She was brilliant when it came to nature. He could only read about it and hope for a camping trip with his father when he was young. After he turned seven, he never got the chance to even spend time with his father; his parents had gotten divorced. He sighed a little and slid down the tree. He would be lucky if he didn't fall.

Flyte suddenly gasped and pulled herself upright again. She glanced over her shoulder but, of course, it was there. The tattoo. She sat there as if frozen, staring at the treetops in horror. She couldn't look at Masi.

Masafumi smiled. "Don't worry, I have one too," he stated. "I'd show you, but I'd probably fall off." He was really freaked about falling off anything; trees, horses, a rock... anything.
